Global economic uncertainty continues

SEVERAL FACTORS AFFECTING CONSUMER CONFIDENCEwww.TorontoRealestateAndMotgages.ca - Worry
Canadian consumer confidence remains low for a variety of reasons. The European debt crisis, the US debt downgrade and heightened worries about a double dip recession in the US economy have had a significant impact. As these issues continue to weigh on consumer confidence, experts believe that we will see slow economic growth for the
remainder of the year and, quite possibly, into 2012.

Market Watch – September 2011

Real Estate - 20110923Real Estate Market Picked Up Momentum This Summer
In spite of uncertain economic conditions the resale housing market has picked up momentum this summer and made up for the quiet start to 2011. However, we are seeing that homes are taking slightly longer to sell than they did in July.

Interest rates are still low, which continues to motivate many buyers and sellers. However, a more balanced market means more inventory for buyers to choose from, which often leads to a longer selling time. Continue reading

A LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR

A broker was dismayed when a brand new real estate office much like his own
opened up next door and erected a huge sign which read ‘BEST AGENTS.’
monkey-headHe was horrified when another competitor opened up on his right, and announced its
arrival with an even larger sign, reading ‘LOWEST COMMISSIONS.’
The broker panicked, until he got an idea. He put the biggest sign of all over his
own real estate office. It read: ‘MAIN ENTRANCE’

A guy walks into the real estate office and hands the broker his application.
The broker begins to scan the sheet, and notices that the applicant has been
fired from every real estate office he has ever worked for.
“I must say,”
says the executive, “your work history is terrible. You’ve been fired from every
real estate office.”

“Yes,” says the man.
“Well,” continues the
broker, “there’s not much positive in that.”
“Hey!” says the guy as he
pokes the application. “At least I’m not a quitter.”
